A webinar fundraiser brought to you by the Missouri Psychological Association.

All proceeds will go to support MOPA and its efforts to protect and advance Missouri psychology with our state legislature, regulatory groups, insurance companies, and beyond.

SAVE THE DATE!
Saturday, DECEMBER  5  -  8 a.m.-Noon

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a "collaborative, goal oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person's own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion" (Miller & Rollnick, 2013). MI is an evidence-based intervention that started with the treatment of addictions and has been successfully applied to mental health conditions as well as physical health concerns. Where there is ambivalence about behavior change, MI is a viable intervention to help patients in health decision making.

After this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Review the fundamental spirit and principles of MI
  • Introduce core skills of MI
  • Build understanding of the MI style in practice
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED - PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR OUR ON-DEMAND EVENT
