At every MOPA Conference we take a moment to celebrate those among us making a true difference in the lives of our patients, our universities, our communities or our professions.
Nominations for the following awards are being accepted for consideration. Although MOPA does not give out every award every year, we strongly encourage nominations for any and all award categories. To learn about each award, please click on the "+" to expand the award criteria.

MOPA Dr. Richard Wilkerson Lifetime Achievement Award
The Dr. Richard Wilkerson Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a MOPA member who has made sustained, outstanding, and unusual contributions to the history of psychology in Missouri over the course of their career.
MOPA Psychologist of the Year
This award recognizes a Missouri psychologist who has made a distinguished contribution to advancing Missouri psychology in the area of research, teaching, practice, and/or advocacy.
MOPA Early Career Psychologist (ECP) of the Year
This achievement award honors an early career Missouri psychologist who shows significant promise based on their early contributions to furthering Missouri psychology and/or the profession. Nominees may work in any area of psychology (e.g., education, practice, research) and must have completed their doctoral degree within the past 10 years.
MOPA Advisor of the Year
This award recognizes a Missouri psychologist who supports Missouri psychology through the education and training of the next generation of Missouri psychologists. Nominations should demonstrate how the nominee has exerted a significant impact on the development of students and/or early career psychologists. Nominees must be affiliated with a degree-granting academic program.
MOPA Clinical Supervisor of the Year
This award recognizes a Missouri psychologist who supports Missouri psychology through the clinical supervision and training of the next generation of Missouri psychologists. Nominations should demonstrate how the nominee has exerted a significant impact on the development of students, interns, post-docs, and/or early
career psychologists. Nominees must be affiliated with a formal practicum, internship, or post-doctoral training site or program.

MOPA Student of the Year
This award recognizes a student enrolled at a Missouri university who is making significant contributions to the field of psychology, through research engagement, teaching, mentoring, clinical work, or other forms of community engagement. (Eligibility: undergraduate and graduate students in accredited master's and doctoral level programs.)
MOPA Trainee of the Year
This award recognizes an intern or post-doc at a Missouri training site making significant contributions to the field of psychology, through research engagement, teaching, mentoring, clinical work, or other forms of community engagement. Nominees must be affiliated with a formal practicum, internship, or post-doctoral training site or program.
MOPA Diversity Award
This award is given by the MOPA Diversity Committee and recognizes a Missouri psychologist who has made exemplary contributions to individuals of ethnic/ racial minority backgrounds, members of LGBTQIA+ communities, religious communities, individuals/ groups with physical disabilities, and/or other designated groups under the APA definition of diverse populations. These contributions may include one or more of
the following:

- Developing proven strategies to increase the types/quality/amount of psychological services to individuals of diverse backgrounds, especially ethnic/racial minority clients.
- Notable involvement in efforts to educate the general public or various groups on issues and situations important in the mental health of diverse populations.
- Serving as the academic advisor or mentor of graduate or undergraduate students from diverse populations
- Providing opportunities for individuals in diverse populations to become involved in positions of leadership within community-oriented projects.
MOPA Integrated Care Champion
This award recognizes a Missouri psychologist who has made significant contributions in the area if integrated healthcare through clinical service, research, training, advocacy, and/or outreach. This award is given by the MOPA Integrated Care Committee.
MOPA Outstanding Volunteer Award
Missouri Psychological Association Outstanding Volunteer Award is an annual award recognizing a dedicated and passionate volunteer, who through their diligent efforts, made significant contributions to the well being of our association.

2023 FELLOWS
We are also accepting nominations for members to be elevated to Fellow status.
Please see below for an excerpt from our bylaws:
A. Fellow
1. The minimum standards for Fellow status shall be (a) prior status as a Member for at least one year, (b) active engagement at the time of nomination in the advancement of psychology in any of its aspects, (c) five full-time years of acceptable professional experience subsequent to the granting of the doctoral degree, and (d) evidence of unusual and outstanding contribution of performance in the field of psychology.
2. Fellows of the American Psychological Association may be considered for Fellow status upon demonstration of active involvement in MOPA.
3. Fellows shall be entitled to the rights and privileges of membership as described in Article VII, plus voting privileges and the privilege of holding an elective office, of the Association without restriction
