DESCRIPTION
Transgender healthcare for adults and adolescents are hot-button issues in Missouri. In this webinar, I will go over the basics of working with a gender expansive population, issues that present barriers to care, updated guidelines from WPATH Standards of Care version 8, and best practice recommendations for working with adults and adolescents with transgender and nonbinary identities. The end of the seminar is reserved for an extended Q&A and the opportunity to discuss case examples.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify and define culturally competent language and terms relating to gender identity
2. Develop an awareness of the unique culture climate in which LGBTQ+ Missourians navigate the healthcare system
3. Learn how to address issues of gender identity in assessment and therapy with adults and adolescents
Please note: this webinar will be conducted via Zoom.  By registering for this webinar, you are agreeing to Zoom's privacy policy.
