ABOUT THE WEBINAR:
Dr. Benson and Dr. Claiborn have over 80 years of combined professional experience.  They would like to share a number of realities and strategies they have learned, sometimes the hard way, about practicing therapy and about interfacing with the legal community and the courts.   They will offer specific, practical suggestions, and answer questions participants might have.  Drs. Claiborn and Benson are currently active in both therapy and forensic practice, specializing in such areas as violence risk assessment, competency determination, adoption and surgery readiness, parenting fitness evaluation, and ADHD assessment.

DAN CLAIBORN, PH.D
Dr. Dan Claiborn has over 40 years' experience in forensic psychology practice.  His specialties have included custody/parenting evaluations, police psychology services, threat assessments and student  violence risk assessments, competency to stand trial and to handle one's affairs, professional malpractice evaluations, personal injury lawsuit damage evaluations, and diminished capacity evaluations in criminal cases.


Dr. Claiborn has served as the Ethics Chair for the Kansas Psychological Association for 30 years, and he has recently been working with the KBI and the FBI National Academy in providing training for law enforcement and school personnel regarding identification and intervention with potentially violent students. Dr. Claiborn also provides therapy services, has been writing lately on police reform,  and has conducted over 10,000 psychological evaluations of police and forensic clients.
