Ann Steffen, PH.D, ABPP
Ann Steffen, Ph.D., ABPP is currently a professor of psychology and gerontology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where she has spent her career in teaching, research, supervision and direct clinical services focused on the needs of older adults and family caregivers.  Dr. Steffen is a faculty clinician at the UM-St. Louis Community Psychological Service, and is dual board certified in Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology and in Geropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Veronica Shead, Ph.D.
Dr. Veronica L. Shead transitioned to Workplace Violence Prevention
Program Manager at the VA St. Louis Health Care System, after serving as the Palliative Care Psychologist, where she continues to practice clinically.  Prior to returning to her hometown of St. Louis, Dr. Shead received her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis with a focus on Neuropsychology and Aging; completed her internship training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Arizona Medical Center, and fellowship training in Medical Health Psychology with a focus on late life at the Memphis VA Medical Center. She has a passion for Geriatric and Palliative education and training. She has served on the training councils at three VA facilities, and supervised practicum students, interns, post-doctoral fellows and provided mentorship as a preceptor. While at the South Texas VA Health Care System, she was a Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) faculty member and
served as preceptor for the Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship
program as well as the Geropsychology fellowship and Internship
positions. She has held leadership and service roles including current Chair of the Council of Professional Geropsychology Training Programs, past-Secretary of the Society of Clinical Geropsychology,
member of the APA End-of-Life Working group, and a member of the more recent APA Older Adult Guidelines Workgroup. She currently serves on the Association of VA Psychology Leaders (AVAPL)-Psychologists Of Color and Allies SIG Leadership team, the VA Geriatric Cultural Humility workgroup, the VA Race-based stress and Trauma leadership team and serves as a Justice Equity and Inclusion Consultant for the VA Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. She has also served on the Board of the San Antonio Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and has been a community speaker, instructor, workshop leader, and panelist. Dr. Shead was a 2020-2021 Health and Aging Policy Fellow, which allowed her to directly impact Mental health policy while serving as a member of the health team in Senator Michael Bennet’s Office.
