Integration of innovation based on psychology research and sustainability of outcomes have characterized Dr. Carroll Cradock’s work in clinical practice, training and clinical program development. The scope of her work across the age span (children, adolescents, adults) also integrates cultures and language groups: English, Spanish and American Sign Language.
For many years, she held senior leadership positions at Ravenswood Hospital Community Mental Health Center (Executive and Clinical Director) and at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center as Director of Inpatient and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services from 2000 to 2007. Following her work at these major medical centers, she became President of the Chicago Campus of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (2007-2010).
Her work as a volunteer consultant at Villa La Paz Home for Sick Children in Chaclacayo, Peru led to her teaching Field Experiences in Lima, Peru for The Chicago School’s International Psychology Ph.D. program. In 2012 she was designated Honorary Faculty at Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas in Lima. From the beginning and throughout her career she continued to provide clinical services, train psychology interns and to publish research. In 1995, Dr. Cradock initiated telemental health services at the request of Illinois DMH in order to make mental health services accessible for the Deaf state-wide. After leaving administration at The Chicago School, she expanded her clinical practice and training to full time. For 10 years, she provided training to graduate psychology practicum students at El Circulo/The Circle in the Brighton Park area of Chicago, a center for Mexican American women. She has also taught psychotherapy courses as adjunct faculty at Roosevelt University and DePaul University.
