Welcome to an educational and entertaining 3 hours of Imago Relationship Therapy.
OVERVIEW
As of now, 877,000 Americans had been granted divorces in the past year. This count does not include couples who have separated but made no official report of it. These failed relationships cause pain to the couples themselves and disrupt the lives of their children, other family members, and friends. Unfortunately, we are learning that giving up a relationship does not increase our chances for future success. In fact, according to the US Census Bureau, the rate of divorce actually increases in relation to the number of times the person marries.
As psychologists we are called upon to help couples resolve differences and stay together rather than separate. Drawing on the work of Dr. Harville Hendrix, originator of Imago Relationship Therapy, Dr. Weiser and Ms. Wolf will offer tools to help couples transform their struggles into opportunities for deeper intimacy. These therapists will focus on how couples can learn to heal one another from old wounds and how every frustration with one another is “growth trying to happen.”

Learning objectives:
- Help couples approach their difficulties with safety and respect.
- Learn how relationships evolve in stages from the Romantic Stage, the Power Struggle,
and conscious Relating. - Explore how unconscious childhood wounding experiences, emerging during the power
struggle, continue to impact their ability to relate intimately. - Understand that the goal of Imago therapy is to progress from unconscious to conscious
relating and to enjoy the here and now experience of one another.
