EVALUATION
ABOUT THE SESSION
Video-conferenced and audio-only psychotherapy have both been demonstrated as effective in routine clinical practice and efficacious within randomized clinical trials for clients across the adult lifespan and across a range of presenting concerns (Lin et al., 2022; Varker et al., 2019). Clients receiving therapy via telehealth also have attrition rates that are lower than for in-person psychotherapy (Cuijpers et al., 2019; Cuthbert et al., 2022). Most challenges in providing psychotherapy via telehealth occur with adult clients across the lifespan. Some clinicians also describe concerns in their teletherapy practice that are perhaps not unique to middle-aged and older adults but may occur more frequently. There are now a variety of resources and practices available for therapists who would like to improve the experience and impact of their telehealth sessions with individuals in the second half of life. This webinar will feature strategies to manage procedural aspects of telehealth sessions, develop and maintain therapeutic rapport, and enhance teletherapy effectiveness with middle-aged and older adult clients.
This webinar meets the annual CE requirements for PsychPact E.Passport holders for 3 hours of continuing education relevant to the use of technology in psychology.
